This virtual tour enabled the fine tuning of the event location and tenting requirements which saved money and eliminated headaches before the event occurred.

All Dressed Up Tents

For a tent installation, the combination of liners, lighting and greenery can create different environment according to tastes and preferences. They can be customized to be eye-pleasing, glitzy or upscale.

Liners

The most common accessories for tents, consist in the liner which is a fabric that lines the tent’s interior.  Three (3) basic types of tent liners can be found: pleaded, flat and balloon. The tent liners are typically made of polyester or lightweight flame-retardant nylon. In some tent-rental markets, traditional liners are too expensive. Some tent-rental companies hang fire-retardant strips or similar coloured ribbons in the tent to draw the eye away from the top of the tent. Another popular option is to attach satin valances around the interior perimeter of the tent, a tactic that offers a quick, easy-to-install way to add elegance to a space. Other tent rental firms use sheets and strips of coloured plastic or convention taffeta for a festive, cheery effect. Finally, various types of wraps, such as «pole drapes » or « pole sleeves » are also use to embellish the tent’s look. Lights

Whether tents are being used for day or night events, some level of lighting must be incorporated into the installation. The quantity and quality of light depend on the event and user budget. At all times, there must be a reasonable amount of functional light to illuminate whichever event is taking place inside the tent. During the day, the sky is truly the limit!

Functional lights

There are numerous lighting options available for events in which the goal is to obtain a reasonable level of ambient light in the tent. In the case of a pole tents for example, all lightings can be done from the centre poles of the tent, using a variety of high-powered fixtures to throw as much light as possible onto the tent’s surface and have it bounced to the ground below. This is indirect lighting; it can be accomplished with quartz fixtures or with theatrical fixtures such as scoops or parabolic reflectors. Another aspect of functional lighting that cannot be ignored in a tent is emergency and exit lighting. Every jurisdiction has a requirement to this effect stipulating that a tent in which a given number of people assemble must have lighting over each exit.    

Other decorative lighting options for tents and events are the miniature lights often used to wrap tent poles or outline the tent’s frame.

Greenery

Greeneries serve several basic functions in the tents. They can divide, connect, highlight and disguise. Plants can serve as visual connectors for events that take place in tents.
